Slipknot // Prepare for Hell Tour & London

It usually surprises people when I tell them that I love to listen to heavy metal, I’m not sure why… I think its maybe because I don’t dress like I like that type of music?! But never judge a book by its cover people! This past Friday me and some friends trekked it to London Wembley Arena for the Slipknot Prepare For Hell Tour gig (with special guests Korn!!!). I was massively excited for this gig! I was able to get O2 priority tickets (standing, obvs!) – I hear the standing tickets for this show sold out in like 6 minutes, corr!

Serums & Oils // Where to start?

I have a decent-ish skin care routine, but nothing really solid that I would want to share just yet. I’ve decided that I want to start introducing serums and oils in to my routine as my skin has been a little more dehydrated than usual these past couple of months and makeup just doesn’t seem to be sitting right on my skin at the moment.

I don’t know if I’m in the same boat as anyone else, and please tell me if I am, but when it comes to serums and oils – I literally have no idea where to start! I’m in my 20’s and I have normal to dehydrated skin with a slightly oily t-zone so I’ve decided that I should maybe steer clear of the “anti-ageing” serums and oils and focus more of putting the moisture and the glow factor back into my skin - although a little something that will help with the wrinkles over time would be nice too!

I’ve done my research (quite a lot of research!) and have narrowed down my choices to these 6, but I need a little help on deciding which one(s) I should invest in as I’ve heard great reviews about pretty much all of them!...

My Guilty Pleasures...

This is inspired by LLYMLRS's post that she did. Check that out here, if you haven't already seen it.  I just thought that it was such a great idea and I love reading these sorts of posts, you get to know more about the person behind the blog, so heres my version...

I love iced coffee in the morning (I pretty much have one every morning!)  //  Pinterest - I'm obsessed!  //  Instagram stalking - come on, everyone's a little guilty of this one!  //  Eating Nutella with a spoon - don't tell me you've never done this!  //  Listening to the Best of Fleetwood Mac & the Great Gatsby Soundtrack on repeat  //  Binge watching series on Netflix - I'm currently working my way through QI  //  Making lists - mainly of things I want to buy  //  Tom Ford Lipsticks (ahhhh!)  // Cold pizza - I actually prefer it cold (and sometimes for breakfast) I know I'm a weirdo!

I'd love to hear what your guilty pleasures are.  Hope you're all having an awesome weekend, I really don't want it to be Monday tomorrow! I think I might make some cookies today to cheer myself up! xo

The Ballet // Swan Lake

This past Thursday me and a girlfriend when to the ballet, not just any ballet... we saw the Russian State Ballet perform the beautiful Swan Lake.  It was breathtaking! I've never been to the ballet before but after watching this performance, I definitely want to go again.

If you've never been to the ballet before, I would definitely recommend going. It was, beautiful! The way they move their bodies, the costumes, the dances, the music, its all completely breathtaking.

Some people did get very dressed up, I got a little dressed up although still kept it dressy/casual. Me and my girlfriend said next time we go, we need to get one of the boxes and bring some champagne.

I didn't take any pictures of the performance as I thought that would be quite rude and as its dark everyone would have been able to see, so I couldn't even sneak one! I can tell you now though, I've never clapped so much in my entire life! If you're looking for something fun to do with a girlfriend, go see the ballet! Although I was surprised to actually see quite a few men there! ...I would love to go see the Nutcracker next!

The Wet Brush!

Some people in the blogasphere or those of you that stalk Cult Beauty often enough will have heard of “The Wet Brush”.

I’m an avid fan of the tangleteezer, or shall I say I was! I have long and super fine hair and needed something that would get the tangles out of my just washed and wet locks without damaging it too much. My poor tangleteezer had been very well loved and it was time to chuck it and get a new one. The price of a tangleteezer is £10.99 and after looking on the Cult Beauty website and spying "The Wet Brush", I thought that I’d give it a go, and at £11.99 it’s only £1 more!

I’m so glad that I decided to purchase this brush! This literally glides through my wet tangled hair with ease and doesn’t tug or put of hurt at all! I can honestly say that since using it I’ve noticed my hair looks a lot healthier and feels so much softer, you can read it's claims in the picture above although, I'm not sure what they mean by younger hair! … also when brushing the tangleteezer through my hair it made an awful noise, but when brushing “The Wet Brush” through my hair, no horrible noise at all!

I’m now a wet brush convert! You can find “The Wet Brush” on the Cult Beauty website here – I decided to go for the pink one!

Hope all you lovelies are having a great week so far, I'm off to the ballet tonight, I can't wait! xo

The Zoeve Rose Gold Brush Collection

Ok, so I think pretty much everyone has heard of the Zoeva Rose Gold brush collection by now, and if you haven’t…where have you been?! I think these were the most coveted brushes towards the end of 2014 and with good reason!

I was lucky enough to get this gorgeous set for Christmas and I couldn’t be happier to add these to my (small modest) makeup brush collection. I majorly needed to update my makeup brushes as my collection basically consisted of Real Techniques and not much else - besides the odd Mac and Sigma brush or two - so thought these babes would be a good place to start!  Not only do you get a cute little leather/leather look (not sure if it’s real leather or not) pouch but you also get 8 brushes in the collection. Going down in size order, you get the 106 Powder Brush, the 102 Silk Finish Brush, the 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek Brush, the 110 Face Shape Brush, the 142 Concealer Buffer Brush, the 227 Luxe Soft Definer Brush, the 231 Luxe Petit Crease Brush and the 317 Wing Liner Brush.

I hold my hands up and admit that I haven’t actually used these brushes yet. Does anyone else struggle to use new brushes? They’re just so new and clean and pretty…really pretty! *insert heart eyed emoji!!

These brushes are so incredibly soft so I know these will apply products beautifully. I’ve seen a fair few YouTube videos and read countless posts that have featured these brushes and have not heard one single bad thing about them!

For me I would personally use the 102 Silk Finish Brush to buff in foundation, the 106 Powder Brush for, yup you guessed it, dusting my powder across my face, I can't wait to use the 142 Concealer Buffer brush to see what difference that makes when applying my concealer and the 227 Luxe Soft Definer means that I can get more creative with eye shadow this year! Also the 231 Luxe Petit Crease brush will be perfect for smudging out eyeliner!

If you haven’t already got your hands on these brushes and are umming and ahhing over the price and whether to get them or not (like I was for a while), just bite the bullet and go for it! You won’t regret it! Plus it works out at £7 per brush – which is a DAYUM good deal if you consider how much Real Techniques, Mac or Sigma brushes are each – and I would say these brushes are up there with the likes of Mac and other higher end brands in terms of quality!

My NYE Makeup Look

I kept my makeup look for NYE simple as I was only having a chilled night in with friends, but as it was NYE I wanted to add a little somethin' somethin' to the look to jazz it up...really it was an excuse to wear my new Tom Ford lipstick in Black Dahlia! Such a gorgeous colour, I think this lipstick might just be able to tear me away from my nude lipstick obsession that i've been having lately!

2015 // Goals & Dreams

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We're finally in 2015! Am I the only one that loves starting a new year?! To me it feels like a fresh start and I love making lists of things that I want to achieve in the coming year.

I was extremely lucky in 2014 ...I got to see Amsterdam, Belgium and Berlin with great friends and got to make some awesome memories.  Had an amazing time at Carey's Manor (if you get the chance to go, go!) and Centre Parcs for the boys 30th birthday - we went to Longleat too, of course!.  I did a skydive for charity and managed to actually check off 2 of my resolutions - passing my theory and driving test!! Also, my gorgeous little nephew was born! I'd say 2014 was a pretty damn good year...I hope 2015 will be just as kind to me! (You can check out my 2014 revolutions here)

So, my Goals & Dreams for 2015...

01.  The January detox // After overindulging a bit too much over the holidays, I'm feeling kinda crappy! It's my own fault, far too much food and champers!! So have decided that I need to detox! Basically try and eat better and get the odd bit of exercise in here and there! I think I actually did a "January detox" in 2014 (part 1 and part 2) so have decided to do it again!

For the month of January I'm going to give up alcohol, chocolate, crips, cheese and pasta - 5 things that I love! I know it'll be hard, but I also know I can do it! I'm also going to start taking supplements - I need to get my body back on the right track, after all, its the only one i'll get!

02.  Travel to Prague and Rome // 2 amazing cities that I need to see.  Luckily for me and the boy, his parents were super generous this Christmas and gave us a £100 travel voucher! I couldn't believe it. I'm going to need to start planning an organising this one!

03.  To pass my Legal Secretary Level 3 Diploma course // So far i've pass 3 of the 6 units I need to take.  I just hope I do well on the next 3! I'm waiting to hear the results from my 4th unit which was a beast of an assignment, so this year I have one more assignment and one more exam left. Keep your fingers crossed for me! (see my tips for studying at home here).

04.  To save save save // me and the boy are saving for a deposit for a house, how grown up of us! So I'd like to have some major dollars in the bank by the end of the year. We've given ourselves a year and half to 2 years - ish to buy a place of our own.  We've done the whole renting thing, but now want somewhere of our own!

05. To be more consistent with my blog // Things this past year have been so busy that I haven't really had chance to be consistent with things on my little space of internet.  Now that driving lessons aren't taking up my time and I only have 2 units left of my diploma course I can spend more time thinking up great content! I like to treat this space as a hobby/online diary - I feel like I can be myself on here and talk about things that I want to talk about, that maybe people in RL would find boring!

Wishing you all you beauts an amazing 2015! Lets make this year a great one!
