Aesop Anti- Oxidant Facial Hydrator

As I'm pretty sure I've said before, I work in a pretty heavily air-conditioned office; it literally sucks the life out of my skin! So when it comes to my moisturiser I need some pretty heavy duty hydration!

I already use the Aesop Parsley seed cleansing masque, which gets on pretty well with my skin, so thought I’d try out one of their moisturisers.  When I saw the word “Hydrator” in the name I was sold and £43 later I came away with this beaut!

My skin was so dehydrated that I was getting pesky dry patches (not through lack of water, I try and drink at least 3lts a day!).  I needed something that could sort this and asap!  I can honestly say since using this moisturiser, no dry patches, anywhere on my face, what so ever!

I find this sinks in to my skin quickly, which is always a plus when you’re in a rush in the morning! & you really only do need one pump, so I've found this has lasted me quite a while so far, which is a good thing as this product is a little on the pricey side! It does have a bit of a scent to it but I can’t quite put my finger on it, it smells almost herbal like, I do quite like the smell though. This doesn’t irritate my skin at all and hasn’t broken me out.  I would definitely recommend this product if you have dry to normal skin, I think this product could be a little too full on for oilier skin tones as I do tend to get an oiler forehead when using this particular moisturiser.

Payday Wish List!

You know when you can just smell your payday getting closer closer? I don't know about anyone else but, I start to make a list in my head of things that I'm just dying to buy!  Well, here's the list thats currently burning a hole in my bank card...

01.  Topshop Fluffy Crew Neck Jumpers (in Burgundy & Brown)  //  My wardrobe is in desperate need of some winter essentials (especially as I'm off to Berlin in about 4 weeks!) and I think these jumpers are perfect! I spotted these in my local Topshop and I just fell in love with how soft they are!

02.  H&M Long Sleeve Fine Knit in stripped  //  I spotted this whilst browsing around on my lunch break.  I though this would be perfect for one of those "I'm not quite sure what to wear days"! Throw this on with a pair of ripped jeans and a chunky scarf and your good to go!

03.  Topshop Bounty Cutout Boots  //  I'm also in need of more black boots and these just happen to the boots de jour that I'm lusting after! I love the gold hard wear and for Topshop, their not too badly priced!

04.  Topshop Moto Ripped Leigh Jeans  //  Who gives a crap about cold knees, ripped jeans seem to be everywhere at the moment! I need to add a pair (or 2) to my wardrobe!

05.  Nars Sheer Glow Foundation  //  I've heard this is one heck of a foundation for gals that like a dewy base and if this is anywhere near as good as their creamy concealer, then I'm all over it!  I've not tried any Nars foundations before, but my makeup collection is always open to additions!

06. & 07.  Mac Hue Lipstick & Charlotte Tilbury's Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk  //  Suzie from Hello October used this nude lip combo in one of her recent "Get Ready With My" videos and I fell in love! I'm starting to get in to my nude lips lately so these two will be a must when I get paid!!

08.  Chanel Nail Polish in Rouge Noir  //  The perfect fall/winter nail polish colour?  It is in my eyes! I love dark vampy nails in the fall/winter time and this shade is beautiful, plus, it's Chanel! There is nothing not to love!

09.  Zoeva Rose Gold Brush Set  //  Another Hello October enabled want! These brushes not only look beautiful but are apparently rather awesome! I need a change up with my brushes and I think these might just be the ones to fill all my brush needs! I just hope they don't sell out!

If theres anything that you think is missing from my wish list that just screams "buy me!" let me know ;) I love getting product recommendations! Hope all you lovelies are having a great weekend!  xo

Nutella & Hazelnut Stuffed Croissants

I don’t know about anyone else but, since the Great British Bake Off has ended and the GBBO Master-classes have been showing on TV, I’ve really gotten the baking bug!  I needed to get my baking fix so was browsing “The Londoner Blog” and came across this beaut of a recipe… Nutella Stuffed Croissants.  This recipe seemed like one I could get on board with – easy (you only need 3 things!), quick and oooh so yummy!

What you’ll need:

- “Jus Rol” premade Bake It Fresh Dough (I picked mine up from Tesco)
- A jar of nutella &
- Chopped hazelnuts *optional

Step 1:  Set your oven/Pre-heat it at 200*c/180*c fan assisted ovens)/gas mark 6.

Step 2:  Open the pastry (it feels so soft and squidgy & the can is so satisfying to open!).  The pasty comes pre-cut, so just tear off a triangle and get spreading with the Nutella and sprinkle as many or as little hazelnut chunks as desired.

Then you simply follow the instructions on the tin! Just roll up your triangles and position them in to a croissant like shape.  I curved the edges round slightly once rolled, but you don’t need to.

Step 3:  Line your baking try with baking paper and place your doughy croissants on top. Place them in your preheated oven for 10 – 15 minutes or until golden brown – each oven varies, my oven is rubbish! So I ended up leaving mine in for about 20 – 25 minutes to get them nice and golden and crispy looking.

Step 4:  When your croissants look lovely and golden, take out of the oven and serve!

Like I said - easy, quick and take my word for it, they are YUMMAY!

They’re great to whip up in the morning if you fancy treating someone (or just yourself) to a lovely breakfast in bed (I got major girlfriend points for these, they went down a treat!) or if you have people popping over for tea! Enjoy! xo

Review: Omorovicza Introductory Set

If you’ve ready any of my most recent posts, you may or may not have heard that I’m going to Berlin in November! (I can’t freaking wait and I know I should probably shut up about it now! Lol) Anyways…I want to be able to pack light and in order to do that I needed to size down my skin care, a.k.a. find ALL the travel size products!!

My skin care items are in quite big bottles (a la Clarins!) and not very practical to take away with me. I was browsing the Cult Beauty website for skin care travel sets and found this, the Omorovicza Introductory Set. Now I’ve heard some pretty great things about this particular skin care brand, especially the Queen of Hungry Mist!

As soon as I saw this set I just knew it would be perfect to take away with me! You get the Queen of Hungry Mist (30ml), Cleansing Foam (30ml), Thermal Cleansing Balm (5ml), Illuminating moisturiser (20ml), Instant Plumping Cream (5ml), and the Deep Cleansing Mask (15ml) - And all for a quite reasonable £42! Much cheaper than the actual Travel Essentials Kit they have just bought out and this, in my opinion, is way better value for money!

I have everything I need to take with me in this cute little set (that also comes with a rather handy travel case!). I even have a lovely face mask to take with me!

I've given these products a go and can confirm that each and every product is amazing! *heavenly angles singing! They haven’t irritated my skin, broke me out or turned my face a horrible shade of beetroot! My favourites from the set are the Queen of Hungry Mist *swoon*, the Illuminating Moisturiser (which really does what it says!), the Instant Plumping Cream – I put this on at night and it makes my skin feel amazing come morning! and the Cleansing Mask, which is just heavenly!…trust my skin to be in love with a rather pricey brand! I think when I run out of my current skin care products I may have to cheat on Clarins and sneak some Omorovicza products in to my skincare repertoire!

If your thinking about trying out this brand but aren't sure if you want to invest all that money on a product or products you think your skin may not like, this is the perfect little starter set! I honestly can’t recommend or rave about this enough and I’m actually quite excited to take this away with me to see how it holds up against the Berlin winter weather! xo

Berlin Street Style - A Guide To Urban Chic

I was browsing the Urban Outfitters sale on their website and came across this, “Berlin Street Style – A Guide to Urban Chic” and thought as I’m venturing off to Berlin soon, it was fate that I came across this book (I tell myself) and that I must buy it! As you can guess it very quickly found its way in to my basket and then through my post box!

I’ve not read the entire book as yet but am so far really enjoying it! As you can probably guess it’s a sort of guide book – a guide to the Berlin woman’s style and beauty habits, if you will.

I love the way this is written and the photography in this book is just beautiful! To me, this is very similar to “How to Walk in High Heels: A girls guide to everything” by Camilla Morton (a MUST READ for all ladies btw!) and, I imagine, a German version of the popular “Paris Street Style – A guide to Effortless Chic” by Isabelle Thomas (which is next on my book wish list!)

It has tips for everything; from how to style a leather Jacket, to what restaurants are the flavour of choice for the Berlin women elite!

Even if you’re not travelling to Berlin anytime soon, this is still a great read and I recommend picking it up!

Berlin Street Style – A Guide to Urban Chic - £12(ish) - you can find it here on Amazon UK.

New In: Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm

This was a recommendation from a friend of mine and a blooming good recommendation it was too!  I’d just finished of my Oskia Cleansing Gel (btw it’s totally worth all the hype) but had been using it for a while and fancied trying something different.  I had tried this particular Elemis cleanser before (god bless samples!) and have had various Elemis treatments in the past so I knew my skin would be ok with the product.

I ordered mine from the Feel Unique website – it was a bit of a hassle, my first order got lost in the post! I ended up waiting over 2 weeks to get this through! But now I have this in my mitts, I don't want to let it go!

I'm not sure about the anti-ageing properties just yet, I guess I'll have to wait for a few years on that one to know for sure but I can say that this leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth (and also very clean, obvs!) after using it! & It didn't make my skin feel tight after washing it off either, something i've found that happens with a few other cleansers I've tried!  I massage this in to clean dry skin, I don't dampen my skin before using this as I like to make sure that it actually gets in to the pores in my skin! I massage this all over my face for a couple minutes and wipe off with muslin cloth and warm water.  Once I've wiped off the product,  I then like to run my muslin cloth under some cold water and just pat that on to my face, I find this closes the pores and perks my skin up a bit, plus, it just feels nice!

To me this feels like such a luxe product and smells like I'm giving myself a spa treatment every time I use it - whats not to love about that!.  As this isn't the cheapest cleansing balm out there, I use this mainly in the evenings with exception of weekends, theres nothing I like more than a Sunday pamper!! (Or when you've had a heavy night before and you're skins looking a little lack lustre!)

I probably will end up repurchasing the Oskia Cleansing Gel at some point, but for now I’m loving this new addition to my skincare wardrobe! xo

September Favourites

01.  EOS Lip Balm in mint //  You may have seen this in my Urban Outfitters Haul a little while ago (you can have a nosy at that post here).  There is nothing that I don't love about this lip balm, I'm a total lip balm addict anyway but this has completely stomped on any other lip balm I own! This sorts my dry lips out a treat, I love love love the minty smell and it kinda tingles on my lips to...I like it!

02.  Bobbi Brown Corrector in Extra Light Bisque // I've been giving this some serious love this month, I don't think I've written a full on post about this before and I think I should! This product deserves the lime light, especially if its tough enough to tackle my bad boy dark circles!! I just can't get enough of it, if I'm in too much of a rush in the morning to bother with concealer, I will always make time for this!

03.  Rimmel Blush in Santa Rose // I've been wearing a more neutral/natural kinda blush this month and this ticks all those boxes! It gives a nice little somethin' somethin' to the cheeks without being all like "BAM! I'm wearing blush".  I may have also started to wear this partly because I hear this is a dupe for that Nars blush, you know the one, it's called Douceur and the lovely Suzie from Hello October featured it in one of her recent videos ...Obsessed with her blog at the moment! Amazing content, amazing pictures!!

04.  Aesop Antioxidant Hydrator Moisturiser //  As I'm pretty sure I've said before I work in a pretty heavily air-conditioned office! So when it comes to my moisturiser I need some pretty heavy duty hydration! I can honestly say since using this, no dry patches, anywhere on my face, what so ever! A firm favourite this month!!

05.  La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+] // My skin has been plying up the past couple of weeks or so, I've mainly been breaking out on my forehead and I have not been enjoying it! This product has really kept my skin in check! I love love love it! I featured this in my "3 Skincare Miracles" post - You can check that out here.

06.  Zara Scarf //  Another Hello October enabled purchase! I saw this scar fon her blog (post here) and instantly wanted it, so much so that it had sold out and I had put my name on the waiting list thing to be notified when it was back in stock...needless to say I snapped it up and it has been a firm favourite ever since!

I can't believe we're in October already, where is this year going?!...

West Quay Autumn Fashion Fix Event & #FeelingSpendy!

I attended the Autumn Fashion Fix event at West Quay recently, an email dropped in my inbox about it, I was intrigued, accepted the invite …and am so glad I did! It ended up being a super fun day with a girlfriend and to quote Amelia-Liana I was in a #feelingspendy kinda mood!

I ended up watching the 11.45 show - let me just tell you, getting the train to Southampton for this time was NOT fun! I think this particular show was called “Tapestry Folk” or something like that.  Every show was based on a different theme.  I really enjoyed it, I loved some of the outfit choices and would never have thought to put pieces like that together! For me this collection looked like it was based around “that” Burberry scarf, you know the one, the one that every celebrity under the sun is wearing right now with their initials on it. I did spy a couple of sparkly items that caught my eye and I did love the accessories – all Accessorize!

What I loved was that every item that was featured on the catwalk was a piece from a store at West Quay, so if you liked an outfit, you knew you would be able to find it! And every item in each store that was featured had a tag to let you know! I think it was a pretty awesome idea! Bravo West Quay!

After the fashion show we were super hungry! The only cure for this hunger… a Nandos! Hello lovely spiced to perfection chicken! Umm!

After filling ourselves up on Nandos we hit up John Lewis and like I said, I was feeling SUPER spendy! The joys of having a fresh wage packet in your bank!

I picked up another Bobbi Brown corrector in Extra Light Bisque.  I was running out and didn’t want to spend a day without it!

I also dropped some dollarz at the Giorgio Armani counter, I picked up a bottle of the Luminous Silk Foundation… corr this foundation really is as good as all the hype suggests! (Side Note: I got a sample of this before I invested in a whole bottle!).

My last stop in John Lewis was the wholly grail of all beauty counters… Chanel! This is where some serious damage happened!

I picked up the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder in the shade B20 – I decided that I needed a sheer powder to set my makeup and Chanel was the only option! While I was there I decided to browse their lipsticks *insert a million heart eyed emoji’s!!!  I was not walking away from the counter without a Chanel lipstick… I settled for the shade Boy.  One of their best selling shades of all time and apparently named after Coco’s lover! Ooh la la!

We also browsed the home wear section in John Lewis… I love everything in there and in my mind I fill up my imaginary house full of pieces from what John Lewis have to offer!

Our last stop was Bouxe Avenue… I have to admit, the main reason I went in to the store was because they were handing out glasses of champagne… I’m a sucker for that stuff! But while I was in there decided that a few underwear purchases were necessary!

By the end of the day our feet were killing us, but I bloody love shopping in West Quay!
